Samsung launches the reimagined Galaxy S9 series!

Today is the DAY! Samsung has officially made the highly anticipated new Galaxy S9 series official! As expected, the company introduced the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+.

Coming from the Galaxy S8 series last year, the new Galaxy S9 series are now better than ever. It still has the identical looking sandwiched glass design with IP68 water and dust resistance, but Samsung improved on nearly everything else.

Both highlights an improved curved Infinity Display, speedier than ever processor and GPU, variable aperture camera, AR capabilities, better than ever Bixby, and the new interesting tricks.

Crazy good cameras for a phone!

The Galaxy S9 has the smaller 5.8-inch screen, 4GB RAM, 64GB expandable storage, 3,000mAh battery, and single 12MP (f/1.5 / f/2.4) w/ Dual Pixel, OIS, multi-frame, and dual tone LED flash camera.

On the other hand the Galaxy S9+ boasts the larger 6.2-inch screen, 6GB RAM, up to 256GB expandable storage, 3,500mAh battery, and dual camera setup. The dual camera setup consist of a 12MP (f/1.5 / f/2.4) primary and a 12 MP f/2.4 telephoto secondary lens. It also has Dual Pixel, Dual OIS, multi-frame, and dual tone LED flash.

The new features of the Galaxy S9 series

1. Variable aperture camera with up to 960 fps Super Slow-mo - Both the Galaxy S9 and S9+ has an auto adjusting 12MP (f/1.5 / f/2.4) aperture size. The f/1.5 is for better lowlight and the f/2.4 is for bright shots. Samsung also has a 960 fps Super Slow-mo mode with up 720p resolution.

2. New camera features - It now has AR Emoji which can create a 3D avatar that looks like you and can copy your facial expressions. It also has pre-installed cute emoji's that works like Apple's Animoji, but better. For the Galaxy S9+ the Live Focus feature now comes with and "art bokeh" function.

3. Speedier processor - The Galaxy S9 and S9+ are the first two phones with up to 2.9GHz 64-bit Exynos 9810 octa-core processor built under the 10 nm FinFET process. It is paired with the Mali-G72 MP18 GPU. In comparison that's higher than the MP12 GPU of the Mate 10 series.

4. Stereo speakers - Samsung now has a stereo speaker setup for the new Galaxy phones. It has a single loud speaker below and another speaker on the earpiece. AKG audio tuned those new speakers for the "best" speaker quality on a smartphone yet.

5. Intelligent scan - It is the iris scanner + facial recognition combined. It uses infrared and RGB sensors with anti-spoofing. Samsung claims that it is now more accurate and secured than ever.

6. Bixby 2.0 now has AR - It now has live translation and conversion, object detection, and etc. It is now smarter than ever.

7. Samsung DeX Pad - Coming from the first DeX, the new Dex Pad now has up to WQHD resolution, option to use your phone as a touchpad, HDMI connection, and 2x USB 2.0 port.
