Those flagship phones has the specs, features, cameras, and actual performance that can compete, match, or even beat most of the pricier phones from Sony, LG, Samsung, and Apple.
As a result, we think that both the Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro deserved to be crowned as the smartphones of the year.
However, we can only choose one. Team GIZGUIDE's pick as the top overall smartphone of 2017 in the Philippines is the regular Huawei Mate 10.
Yes, we understand that the Huawei Mate 10 Pro is the slightly better phone due to its IP67 water and dust resistance, bigger 6GB RAM, and 128GB storage.
But for us, the regular Huawei Mate 10 is slightly more value packed. Why? It has the same premium sandwiched metal and glass aesthetics, A.I. assisted beastly specs, big battery capacity, really good pair of Leica cameras behind, and a PHP 6K cheaper price tag.
In addition, unlike the Mate 10 Pro, the regular Mate 10 has a microSD card slot and 3.5 mm headphone jack.
