Vivo, one of the top 5 global smartphone brands just teased their latest innovation, a prototype smartphone with under display fingerprint scanning solution. It's a technology that both Apple and Samsung might also implement in their future devices.

Vivo stated this "Ultrasonic Fingerprint Scanning Technology" is an identification system that uses piezoelectric effects to produce and receive ultrasonic signals that will pass through the OLED screen.

It'll produce different reflection strengths at the fingerprint ridges and fingerprint valleys to generate a fingerprint image to achieve the said technology.
The said technology can also unlock the phone even if your hands are wet.
Interestingly, the prototype model that Vivo showed has almost no bezels. It even has a seemingly wider screen-to-body ratio compared with both Galaxy S8 series and LG G6.
