As we all know, Sony is very proud of their camera technology especially on a high-end smartphone like the Sony Xperia XZ Premium. The company has equipped this beast with a special type of 19 MP f/2.0 Exmor RS sensor.
Technically, this camera is the same with what you'll find with the XZs. It highlights a Hybrid AF (contrast and phase detection) for better and faster focus, SteadyShot technology to reduce blur and shakiness, and the Motion Eye system that can record super slow motion videos with insane 960 frames per second.
Without further ado, here's how the camera of a PHP 44,490 device looks like!

The Sony Xperia XZ Premium is a promising camera phone during our short time with it. Aside from the super slow motion tech, this handset is a pretty decent point and shoot camera on a high-end phone. Images are mostly vibrant, rich in colors, and has plenty of details.
However, we think that Sony needs to refine the software of this device due to some inconsistencies. We noticed some inconsistencies in exposure and focus. We also find the camera software lacking in robust manual controls. Yes, there's a manual mode, but it is limited.
Note: Sony Philippines informed us that the units we tested are not the retail version yet. Sony assured that the final unit would be better in camera performance.
Stay tuned for our verdict soon!
