Sony Xperia XA1: First Camera Samples
23 MP beast under PHP 15K |
Speaking of cameras, the Sony Xperia XA1 has the potential to be the best all around main camera for photography and videos found on a sub PHP 15K smartphone. How? Sony uncharacteristically decided to place a flagship grade main camera sensor on a midrange smartphone.
To be precise, its a 23 MP f/2.0 1/2.3 Inch Exmor RS sensor w/ Hybrid AF, Steady shot, and LED flash main camera or the identical camera tech found on the Sony Xperia XZ with over PHP 30K price tag. In front, it is no slouch as well. There's a 8 MP f/2.0 1/4 Inch Exmor R w/ AF, wide angle, and SteadyShot selfie camera.
Here's some of our first few snaps taken using Sony Xperia XA1!

Wide angle! |
By far, the photos taken using its back camera are impressive. It is rich in resolved details, colors are accurate, and dynamic range is excellent. We also noticed that it can very fast shooting speed and focus despite having the large 23 MP resolution.
In front, we enjoyed that the angle is wide. With this, fitting a lot of your friends in one frame even with the lack of dual cameras with wide angle support is possible. It is just a tad lacking in detail and color, but so far acceptable.
So far that's it, stay tuned for our full review where we'll have more sample photos in different settings. We're excited to test this in lowlight and other harsh lighting lighting conditions.
