Samsung's newly launched Galaxy Note 7 is one of the most exciting and complete Galaxy device yet. Why? Samsung didn't cut corners in making this one. It's complete with flagship grade materials and specs, great cameras, large battery capacity, IP68 water and dust resistance, micro SD card slot, and a simplified TouchWiz UI.

Fortunately, we were able to grab a hold of the device briefly to share with you what we initially think about this new beastly device. Let's start!

Build Quality / Design

Beautiful glass back showing the now slightly protruding dual pixel camera, LED flash, and sensors

This device is improved overall! It's constructed using a solid metal frame made with the extra tough Aluminum 7000 grade metal alloy that's sandwiched between the shatter / scratch resistant Gorilla Glass 5 protected edge to edge curved glass in front and back.

Another notable thing here is it has an IP68 rating that makes it resistant to water in up to 5 ft deep in 30 minutes. That adds more confidence in its overall quality as it is almost guaranteed that the phone is designed to last.

Also noticed that the phone looks slimmer than its 7.9 mm thickness due to the dual curved design

It's a type of setup that's elegant looking yet extra tough!
Design-wise, the Note 7 shares a similar design language with the Galaxy S7 Edge. It comes with beautiful contours and curves all over, and the edge to edge dual edge screen / glass at the back, and nicely crafted metal frame.
At 5.7 inch big, some supposedly smaller 5.5 inch phones with black bezels are even wider in comparison. It also doesn't look thick at 7.9 mm slim.
So far, the phone looks definitely stunning! To nitpick, my only gripe is its curved glass back is prone to fingerprint smudges. Fortunately, that's just a minor issue for most.

Ergonomically, this is a 5.7 inch phablet that feels as slim as regular smartphones. Together with its curves and right amount of heft, it made it super nice to hold and feels perfect in the hands. What's surprising here is it isn't slippery compared with other metal phones with glass at the back.

This is the most exciting Note yet! On first look, it appears that Samsung was able to hit nearly all the right buttons due to its amazing design, crazy good build, powerful specs, and innovative features.

The UI is also so much better now as it is cleaner / smoother than ever, the Iris scanner is no joke due to its super fast response, and the IP68 resistances makes it usable in most conditions.

Of course, let's not jump into conclusions yet. We'll further test what this handset can do in real life usage, how it performs in gaming, and etc. So far, this device is really impressive! Potentially, this is the best phablet in the world today!
