Huawei P9 And P9 Plus With Dual Leica Lens Now Official, The Next Gen Of Mobile Photography?
Huawei is a master in making high quality handsets and Leica is a leader in precision high-end photography, so their latest partnership makes a lot of sense to create the best possible device. As a result after all the rumors, Huawei just unveiled the much awaited P9 and the P9 Plus.
The next gen of mobile photography?
Also dubbed as the Honor 6 Plus successors, the Huawei P9 and P9 Plus also carries a dual camera setup, but this time it's tuned by Leica and upgraded at 12 MP w/ 1.26 micron pixels, 27 mm focal length and f/2.2 aperture size. (Leica Summarit H 1:2.2/27 lenses) The first sensor is a color sensor and the other one is a monochrome lens.That setup enables users to sense lighting conditions, take more accurate photos and take photos in real black and white tone. It also has the world's first "depth measurement chip" technology and has a proprietary hybrid focus tech. Meaning it can focus in different ways by using laser focus, depth focus and contrast focus technologies.
You can also shoot in RAW formats, has manual modes manipulate bokeh, refocus after shooting and etc.
Both devices also has an upgraded 8 MP selfie camera w/ f/1.9 aperture and auto-focus tech.
Under the hood, the Huawei P9 features a 5.2 inch LCD screen with 1920 x 1080 resolution and 1.7 mm slim bezels, runs with the beastly Kirin 950 octa core chip, 3 GB / 4 GB RAM, 32 GB / 64 GB expandable ROM and has 3,000 mAh of battery capacity with USB Type C support that could be quick charging.

For a handset that's co-developed with Leica, I was really thinking that Huawei will jack price up of this one with a much higher price tag. However, Huawei incredibly made the following handsets affordable for a "Leica" phone.
The price of Huawei P9 starts at just USD 680 (around 32K Pesos) and the Huawei P9 Plus starts at USD 850 (around 40K Pesos) only.
The P9 will arrive in Ceramic White, Haze Gold, Rose Gold, Titanium Silver, Mystic Silver and Prestige Gold while the P9 Plus will have Titanium Grey, Mystic Silver, Prestige Gold, Rose Gold color variants to launch in selected countries this April 16 of 2016.
Let's hope for a Philippine launch as well.
