LG G5 Officially Announced At MWC 2016! The First Modular Flagship Phone In The World!

Arguably, the MWC is where you see the very best of what the mobile world at the current time has to offer and LG is very consistent in that department each year. This time they announced their much awaited LG G5 is a pleasant surprise, the first modular flagship phone in the world.

Let's go to the basic specs first. The LG G5 is a monster on paper. It features a 5.3 Inch QHD Quantum IPS screen with 2560 x 1440 resolution at a super high 554 ppi with Always on display feature similar with the secondary screen of the LG V10 that has notifications and etc.

It runs on the Snapdragon 820 quad core processor, has 4 GB LPDDR4 RAm, 32 GB UFS ROM that's expandable via micro SD card slot up to 2 TB and 2,800 mAh of battery capacity.

The camera to beat again?

It goes with two camera at the back, the first has a standard 16 MP 78 degree lens and the other one at 8 MP has the widest in the smartphone industry at 135 degrees. That's around 1.7 times wider than any smartphone in the land today that's 15 degrees that what our human eye can see. You'll also get LTE Cat 12 connectivity, NFC and USB Type C. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS.

The future of modular tech is here!

When we say modular, we mean that most of the parts are removable, swap-able or up-gradable. You'll get a LG Camera Plus module and HiFi Plus module. The camera module enhances the battery to 4,000 mAh and the HiFi module enables you to access HD 24 Bit HiFi Wireless audio with aptX technology. That's touted to deliver fantastic audio experience across the spectrum in a convenient way.

This definitely something that I would love to see more in the future. Changing and manipulating your phone to something that transforms with the way want.
