Asus ZenPower 10050 mAh Review: Compact, Powerful And Fast-Charging Powerbank Priced AT 795 Pesos

Alongside the popular Asus Zenfone 2, the Taiwanese giant also launched months ago the lightweight, compact, powerful and fast-charging Asus ZenPower 10050 mAh. Luckily, I was able to secure a unit, and I'm so glad to share with you my thoughts about it. By the way, the Asus Zenpower is my favorite powerbank so far (it's indeed a perfect buddy for my Zenfone 2) and you'll find out why as you go along and read my review. So, here it is...

Asus ZenPower 10050 mAh Power Bank

Months ago, before this powerbank was launched, a lot of people especially the media has tagged the Mi Powerbank as the "king of bang per buck powerbank" in the Philippines. It was a game changer when this aggressive challenger entered the market. It may be as small as a credit card, but surprisingly, it offers great features with a very competitive and affordable price. The Asus ZenPower is available in silver, gold, black, pink and blue, but only the first two mentioned variants are being sold in the country. It has a price tag of Php 795.

Build Quality and Design

The Asus Zenpower comes with a smooth aluminum exterior and rounded bezels. It has a compact form factor measuring only 90.5 x 59 x 22 mm, which makes it easy to carry. You just might find it a little thick when you try to put it inside you jean's pocket, but nonetheless, it's still small compared to other 10,000+ mAh powerbanks.

My unit is colored gold, which I find classy and elegant. In terms of build quality, the Zenpower is very solid. It's not a scratch magnet unless you solidly drop it on a very rough surface. I found on Asus' website that they're also offering a protector, that seems to be a jelly case, but as far as I know, it's not yet available in the Philippines.

LED Battery Indicators, Power Button, USB port, microUSB port

On top of the Asus ZenPower is where the LED strip battery indicator, power button, USB port (for output) and microUSB port are located. I kind of expected this to have two USB outputs (2A + 1A) just like other high capacity powerbanks but features 1 instead. The 2.4A output comprised this lacking feature which can charge your devices faster than your regular powerbank.

Performance

The Asus ZenPower power bank has a power capacity of 100050mAh which can full charge my device for at least 2-3 times. The impressive part is the 2.4A output which can charge my Asus Zenfone 2 for just around 2 hours. Its fast-charging capability is one of its highlights and notable features. The Asus ZenPower can also power up my Asus Transformer T100 laplet. It's my life saver when I'm outside working and got nowhere to plug my device. 

When charging the Asus Zenpower using my 2A adapter, it usually takes me around 4 hours to fully charge it. Then, it's ready to go.

Verdict

I highly recommend the Asus Zenpower to everyone. With just a price tag of Php 795, you'll get 10050 mAh power capacity, compact form factor, superb and elegant design and fast-charging capabilities. Another plus factor is that it's manufactured by one of our trusted brands. What else can we ask for? :)
